I took these videos Monday Night at about 10pm est.

Here are some pics and video taken Sunday night at about 10:pm (est) from my back yard.
I spent most of the time fighting with the tree branches but mostly the clouds. There was what seemed an unlimited amount of them this evening. (clouds)
Here are the videos using the smaller camera with the smaller lense. You will be able to notice the difference right away. The smaller lense on this camera takes better pics due to the fact that its not so large that it tries to compensate for the smaller view. 100% better then the last pics and videos but still not 100% perfect for my taste.

These videos were taken (08-08-2008) from my back yard by pointing my JVC camcorder at the telescope lense. My JVC lense is larger then most and therefore wrecks most of the shots as the lense tries to over compensate for the pictures. Using a smaller lense on the camera would produce better results….More clear videos and pics.
I will try to use my other camera with the smaller lense tonite to get some better shots and video.
Here is a pic of the JVC camera used to take these videos:
Here are some pics of my telescope used to get the videos and pics.
Finally here are some videos I took using the JVC camera. As you will be able to see the lense over compensates the shots and makes them not as clear as they are in the telescope. In the scope the pics are perfect. Trying to get them to show you what I see is not so easy;-) But I will keep trying.
When you view the video with it moving in and out of view that is the lense trying to make the video better but is only making it very bad.

If you are new to AstroPhotography like I am make sure that you try to use a camera with the smallest lense possible. Big is NOT better in this case. I also read this after the fact on one of the major astronomy forums. Wish I could have read that before I started using the larger lense as is on the JVC camera.
In future videos I take of the moon I am going to try to get real close up shots of the mountains on the moon. The real challenge here is trying to get clear shots through all the clouds in the sky.
Here are some pics of the moon I took in my back yard on my youngest daughters birthday.
Some are good and some are not. I will try to get better at it as I go. Its really not that easy to get your target (the moon) in view and then get your camera setup and in the correct position. Its also a pain cuz my flash on my camera wants to go off and sometimes it totally wrecks my pics. I tried to put black tape over the flash and it worked….a little.
