Katie Couric speaks with former Vice President Al Gore about his 10-year plan to replace U.S. dependence on oil and coal with renewable energy sources.
I recently found a cool dc voltage booster on the net and used one of my rechargable AA batteries to boost 1.2 volts dc to almost 5 volts.
Very cool. This would be great for boosting the current people get by way of earth batteries and tesla sun energy devices. You could also use it to boost one of those cheap little solar cells from radioshack.
Watch the video for more info.
Imagine if you are using an earth battery and getting 1.2 to 1.5 volts dc you could use this little electric guy to boost that current to 5 volts dc.
You could also run these in series or parallel to increase your volts or your amps.
Somthing for nothing? Maybe.
I emailed the desinger for this little gadget and he was able to make one for me cheaper then the normal project as it uses less parts. I didnt need the tin and battery holder, etc.
You can find him here:

Okay well maybe not so different but it works about as well as it can here in Michigan where the wind blows once every 100 years for about 2 days straight.
Simply Amatek 38 Volt motor mounted to a home made frame of nothing more then
water pipe.
Above: See the 4 inch pvc pipe cut in half about 1 foot long.
above: the simple water pipe
Above: Here is a pic of my solar panel mounted on the pole that originally came with the shitty “direct TV’ service. By the way, their service is the worst scam on the planet. Do NOT order “direct TV”! You would do better with Dial UP internet.
More pics of the turbine. No wires running yet as firstI want to watch it spin in the wind;-)
A kewl little test using a solar panel to store energy into a battery, the battery runs the electric motor which in turn powers the generator….
Below are some updated pics of the new flywheel that I made using a wooden circle from Lowes. I am not done with it yet but it will make the generator turn alot faster with less work from the motor…..

Here is an update to this project. Below.
I finally found a belt that would fit over the large wooden wheel and the alternator however the dc motor does not seem to have the balls enough to turn over either one (the alternator or its self.)
I may try to adjust the alt. as I think its on a slight angle that would also put alot of un-needed stress on the dc motor. If this fails then….poooop! Hehee
Maybe I’ll end up mounting magnets direct onto the wooden wheel and then spining them past some copper coil to see what current I can get from this setup.
Here is the updated video:
Here is a very nice addition to the renewable energy projects. Its a cheap (under $10 at CVS pharmacy) very bright flash light and AM/FM radio.
To use this simply crank the handle a couple of time and you have up to 30 minutes to use the light or listen to the radio. Need more time? Just crank it a couple of more times and get all the power you need.
This is great for emergencies and its always available unlike its now old ‘traditional’ flashlight.
Think the light is not bright enough? You better think again. The ultra bright white LEDS are like nothing I have ever seen in any flashlight, much less a traditional flashlight.
Once I tried it for the first time I can tell you that I will NEVER use another flashlight again unless its crank powered.
Here are some pics of it. They are rather large.
Take this ANYWHERE with you. Put it in your car, motorhome, or just in the kitchen drawer in case of the power outages that often happen during storms.
You will spend more then the cost of this (under 10 bucks) then you would to buy just one battery to replace the dead ones that are in your current flashlight.
Need a free energy generator that can power almost anything?
Check this hack out! Using adapters you can charge and use this free energy for anything including your cell phone.
